Meet the Team
Mary O'Connor
Mary is one of Ireland's most respected Chartered Physiotherapists, having held such prestigious posts as President of the Irish Sports Medicine Association, & President of the Irish Society of Orthopaedic Medicine. Having established her Private Practice in Naas, Co. Kildare in 1990, Mary comes with a wide level of experience of all aspects of musculoskeletal physiotherapy. Mary joined DBC in 2004 as Medical Director of the new DBC Naas Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation facility and continues her physiotherapy practice from the centre at Trident House, Dublin Road, Naas. Mary lectures on the Orthopaedic Medicine post-graduate courses in UCD and the Royal College of Surgeons and also sits on the National Coaching & Training Centre Sports Science and Medical Support committee. A Tipperary native, Mary has worked extensively within GAA & soccer with many of Ireland's leading clubs & teams. She has previously held the position of club physiotherapist at Shamrock Rovers & Shelbourne FC, in addition to physiotherapist with the Irish Olympic Team.She is currently a member of the advisory board to the Irish Institute of Sport.
She has recently become one of the first physiotherapists in Ireland to be awarded Level 111 accreditation of the CPSEM (sports physiotherapists in Ireland) which is a member of the International Federation of Sports Physiotherapists whose accreditation system demonstrates the high professional standard of sports physiotherapy internationally. Mary and her team recently provided post race physiotherapy for the European Triathlone in Athlone.
Robert Mc Cabe
Rob joined the clinic in Feb 07. A native of Kildare he went to school at Newbridge College before going to Dublin City University (DCU) where he graduated with a Bsc Hons Sports Science and Health. He then went on to graduate with an Msc Physiotherapy from Robert Gordon University Aberdeen. He recently completed his diploma in Orthopaedic Medicine.
His many sporting achievements include playing Gaelic football for Kildare 1997-2005, winning a Leinster U-21 title in 2004. He was a member of the DCU Sigerson Cup team and while at Robert Gordan University was a recipient of a Full Blue Award for the Scotland Railway Cup. He is a former member of the Kildare Senior Football panel, and plays his club football for Ballyteague GFC. He has also played rugby over the years with Newbridge College junior and senior cup teams and with Clontarf RFC. His areas of interest are Orthopaedics, Sports Injuries and Neurology. He has a particular interest in strength and conditioning. Rob was one of the physiotherapists providing physiotherapy post-race, at the Athlone European Triathlone recently
Emma Moran
Emma has been working in DBC Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Clinic in Trident House in Naas since June 2008. She is originally from Dublin and attended Trinity College Dublin where she graduated with a BA Hons in Natural Sciences specialising in zoology. She then went on to graduate with a BSc Physiotherapy from Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin. She is also a qualified Stott Pilates Level 2 (Advanced) Matwork Instructor.
Her many sporting interests include horse-riding, running and scuba diving and she has participated in numerous tetrathalons during her time at university. She has since completed New York Marathon in 2009 and London Marathon in 2010 and continues to run regularly. She recently worked at the European Triathlon in Athlone working with the elite athletes and helping in their post-race recovery.
Caitriona Yeomans
Caitriona joined team at the DBC Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Clinic in Naas, in October 2010. She is a native of Naas and attended the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, graduating with a BSc Hons Physiotherapy in June 2010.
Caitriona’s sporting interests include hockey, badminton and kayaking. She completed the Junior Liffey Descent four times while at Newbridge College. She was on the badminton team that won the Leinster Senior Girl’s Championship in 2005, and captained the team to the semi-finals in 2006. Caitriona is a volunteer with the IHCPT, The Children's Pilgrimage Trust, and has travelled to Lourdes three times with young people with special needs.
She has a particular interest in sports injuries, orthopaedics and paediatrics. She completed a Sports First aid and Traumatology Course in August 2010. Caitriona is currently part of the Physiotherapy team for Newbridge Rugby club. Caitriona, along with her colleagues, recently provided physiotherapy post-race at the European Triathlon in Athlone.
Tim McNamara
Tim joined the clinic in January 2011. He attended University College Dublin where he graduated with a BSc. Hons Physio in June 2010.
Tim's sporting interests include soccer, rugby and gaelic football. His achievements include winning a Leinster Schools Senior League with Clongowes Wood College as well as county titles in both gaelic football and soccer in more recent years. He has worked at an international level with the Irish Olympic Handball Team and is currently part of the physiotherapy team at Wanderer's R.F.C.
In 2009, he spent time volunteering in a hospital in Zambia. His particular interests inlcude Sports Injuries and Orthopaedics.
